The Salbutamol IV study is a multicenter prospective observational guideline evaluation study. In november 2022, the new NVK Guidelines for Paediatric Asthma were published in which treatment with intravenous salbutamol on the general pediatric ward was made possible, whereas previously patients with intravenous salbutamol had to be transferred to Paediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU). The reason for this change is to reduce the rising amount of PICU admission for paediatric asthma. This guideline evaluation study aims to:
- investigate guideline choices and adherence
- study the associated outcomes (PICU admissions, length of stay, compllications/side-effects)
